Johnnie Heider-Kuhn

Practitioner at Rainbow Heart Kambo
Johnnie Heider-Kuhn took his first steps in the Wasatch Range of the Rockies, forging a deep love of Nature and a thirst for adventure. With a BA in Psychology and Fine Art, he later studied Clinical Herbalism and Holistic Nutrition in Boulder, CO. His path led him to teach at the Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism and work with both established and emerging botanical wellness companies. He specializes in herbal formulation, advanced plant extraction, and managing autoimmune conditions with diet. In 2021, a powerful encounter with Kambô initiated a new chapter in his life, followed by a journey to the Peruvian Amazon to study with the late Maestro Jhonny Javá (Kichwa) and Matsés elders. Johnnie now serves Kambô across Colorado’s Front Range and is launching a sustainable apparel brand that supports Amazon conservation and 2SLGBTQIA+ artists. A student of yoga and breath work for 18 years, he’s passionate about plants, healing, and meaningful connection—especially over coffee, in nature, or while cooking with his husband.

Reviving Nasal Kambó Practices with the Matsés - Maestro Dunu’s Legacy

Nasal Kambó is one of the most ancient and least understood ways of working with the Phyllomedusa bicolor tree frog. This method, rooted in Matsés tradition and passed on through the oral teachings of Maestro Dunu in Ibama, Peru, offers a powerful and less-invasive alternative to the burn method commonly known in the West. Whether you are a facilitator, or simply curious about traditional Amazonian medicine, this talk will offer a rare window into a lineage that has survived for centuries.

Modeling Change in Mind, Body, and Ritual: Predictors of Psychological Outcomes Following Kambo Use

Kambo, the Amazonian frog secretion traditionally used in ritual healing, is rapidly gaining traction in Western wellness circles — yet scientific data on its psychological effects remains limited. In this talk, T Wagner shares results from a pioneering study examining changes in self-reported depression, fatigue, mindfulness, and well-being in Kambo-naive participants following a series of three sessions.

Drawing on psychometric data and advanced predictive modeling, the research reveals key insights into what drives meaningful shifts in participants’ mental states — including the roles of fatigue reduction, mindfulness increase, and self-acceptance. Ritual elements such as the use of Sananga and Rapeh, burn point placement, and group dynamics were also explored for their contribution to outcomes.

This session will unpack the findings, explore the interplay between ceremony and neuropsychology, and discuss how evidence-based insights can guide safer, more intentional Kambo practices rooted in both tradition and science.

Kambo & Women’s Health: Reclaiming the Rhythms of the Feminine Body

In this powerful and heart-centered talk, Kristina Boccio explores the unique and often overlooked relationship between Kambo and the female body. As a full-spectrum women’s health practitioner and mother who used Kambo throughout her own fertility, conception, and postpartum journey, Kristina brings lived wisdom and clinical insight into how Kambo can support hormonal balance, detoxification, reproductive vitality, emotional clearing, and cyclical restoration. She will illuminate how Kambo, when used skillfully, can support women at every stage—whether preparing the womb for conception, navigating postpartum depletion, coming off hormonal birth control, or reconnecting with their moon cycle after years of suppression. This conversation will also touch on the safe use of Kambo for breastfeeding mothers, womb trauma release, and how to work with Kambo in alignment with infradian rhythms and lunar cycles. Kristina will also share insights from her work training doulas, midwives, and practitioners in how to support women with integrity and reverence when using Kambo in their healing process. This talk is an invitation to remember the wild intelligence of the feminine body and how Kambo can be a sacred ally in restoring the innate cycles of life, death, birth, and rebirth. Whether you’re a practitioner, a mother, or a woman seeking deeper healing, this session offers practical wisdom and spiritual perspective on Kambo as a powerful tool in reclaiming women’s health in a time of global awakening

Managing The Wild West of Kambo's Growth in the Modern World

How do we cultivate safety, accountability, and organizational pedigree in an unregulated landscape? Right now, the Kambo world is navigating an evolving legal climate, caught between the wild west of deregulation and the clinical rigidity of modern science. In this presentation, Greg Manning argues that the answer lies in self-regulation. Taking a leaf out of ICEERS' philosophy, Greg unpacks what it truly means to steward this medicine with wisdom in the modern world. This talk goes beyond standard harm reduction to address practitioner competency, informed consent, and community accountability & modeling. Join Greg to explore how we can bridge Western physiology with Indigenous origins, ensuring a safe path for practitioners and seekers alike—long before the state steps in to regulate and control Kambo.
