Omar M'Rabet Gomez is a plant medicine practitioner and ceremonial facilitator who has been sitting with Kambo since 2004 and has been serving it for 15 years. With 5,000 ceremonies held across 14 countries and 130+ practitioners trained, he spent nearly a decade in direct apprenticeship with the Matsés people of the Amazon, where his relationship with this medicine was forged — not in a training room, but in the jungle, through years of immersion and transmission from those who carry the original knowledge. Omar is the founder of The Quantum Soul, Quantum Soul Academy, and Certified Kambo Practitioner International (CKPI), through which he has built one of the most rigorous practitioner certification programs in the field. He also holds Mayan elder authorization to work with Tepezcohuite — one of a small number of practitioners worldwide to hold this distinction. He works at the intersection of indigenous wisdom, clinical safety, and deep facilitation — and has made it his life's work to raise the standard of what it means to hold this medicine with integrity.

Back to the Source: What the Amazon Actually Taught Me About Kambo

Many practitioners came to Kambo through the Western wellness world — online trainings, weekend certifications, and communities built more on enthusiasm than depth. There's nothing wrong with that beginning. But Kambo has roots, and those roots matter. After 15 years as a plant medicine facilitator, 5,000 ceremonies served across 14 countries, and nearly a decade of direct study with the Matsés people in the Amazon, Omar has come to understand that what makes Kambo powerful is inseparable from the context in which it was born. His talk is an honest look at what indigenous transmission actually looks like — and why it changes everything about how practitioners hold space, apply the medicine, and protect the people in their care. This talk discusses potential gaps between what's being taught in most trainings and what the field actually demands: cardiac safety, energetic discernment, trauma-informed facilitation, and the non-negotiable responsibility of gatekeeping. It invites the community to go deeper and reflect on its values and trajectory. Practitioners who are grounded in genuine lineage, rigorous protocols, and real-world experience build better outcomes, better reputations, and better businesses.
